Dear [CONGRESSMAN / SENATOR / PRESIDENT] [NAME],

I wanted to give you some information on the Tally Bill, H.R.3813 that I feel is very important to the well-being and protection of the veteran community. Brian Tally is a Marine veteran who was nearly killed while seeking treatment by the hands of the VA. The VA was ready to settle his Federal Tort Claim and even accepted full responsibility for gross neglect and malpractice causing permanent injuries. Nearly one year into the claims process the VA reversed course, citing the FTCA Law, and contractor exception. Given the doctor was an Independent Contractor working within the walls of the VA,  the Office of General Counsel denied all culpability, and told him to file with the state (California). By the time he received this crucial information his California state statute of limitations had been blown by days, and he and his family were left holding the bag with zero legal recourse, zero accountability, stripped of his right to due process, and nowhere to turn. (Again, there is far more information available there than I am including here).

We know you are bombarded with requests on a regular basis and that your time is limited, and we respect that,  but I would really appreciate you taking a few minutes to review the bill and the links. Congressman Mark Meadows (NC-11) has officially endorsed and sponsored this bill (H.R.3813). I am reaching out to you and asking your support for this legislation. More so, I believe your co-sponsorship of this legislation would give us the added support we need to fix the problems highlighted in the bill.
